On June 17, 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) issued Decision No. 1428/QD-DCK on the promulgation of energy efficiency standards applicable to the Energy Labeling Program. The decision takes effect as of the date of issuance.
The energy efficiency standards applicable to five product categories under the Energy Labeling Program as of June 1, 2026, are as follows:
- Induction hobs: TCVN 13372:2021
- Infrared hobs: TCVN 13373:2021
- Household microwave ovens: TCVN 13663:2023
- LED road and street lighting luminaires: TCVN 12666:2019
- Desktop computers: TCVN 13371:2021
Pursuant to Circular No. 52/2025/TT-BCT dated November 14, 2025, which stipulates the list of appliances and equipment subject to mandatory energy labeling under the jurisdiction of MOIT, as well as the implementation timeline, the timeline for energy labeling of the above-mentioned equipment is as follows:
- Voluntary energy labeling shall be implemented through December 31, 2026
- Mandatory energy labeling will take effect on January 1, 2027
Decision No. 1428/QĐ-ĐCK officially promulgates energy efficiency standards effective June 1, 2026, for the following equipment: induction hobs, infrared hobs, household microwave ovens, LED road and street lighting luminaires, and desktop computers. Consequently, the Decision establishes a technical framework for businesses to implement energy labeling. In 2026, labeling remains voluntary; however, businesses should proactively review their products, conduct testing, and prepare documentation to ensure they are ready to meet the mandatory requirements effective January 1, 2027, as stipulated in Circular 52/2025/TT-BCT.
