Vietnamese Chemicals Agency promulgates notice on enhanced control of restricted chemicals

On July 26, 2024, the Vietnam Chemicals Agency (Vinachemia) operating under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) issued Notice No. 882/HC-CNHC on Strengthening of the Control of Restricted Chemicals (hereinafter “the Notice”) addressed to business operators engaged in activities related to chemicals that are restricted for trade and manufacture in the field of industry (hereinafter “restricted chemicals”). The notice was also addressed to Bureau of Industry and Trade of each province and centrally governed municipality. The Notice, which was formulated and issued following a cyanide poisoning incident that happened in Dong Nai Province in July 2024, aims to prevent illegal use of restricted chemicals and strengthen the control of those chemicals.

 

The Notice specifically requires business operators engaged in activities related to restricted chemicals to follow the following rules.
