Vietnam revealed proposal amending Decree on transport of dangerous goods by road and inland waterways

On June 11, 2023, the Vietnamese government released a draft amendment to Decree 42/2020/ND-CP on Transportation of Dangerous Goods on Roads or Inland Waterways (hereinafter referred to as "the Draft") and invited opinions from various business entities and organizations. The Draft specifies responsibility of each governmental agency for each type of dangerous goods, simplifies transport permit application documents, and makes firefighting and safety assurance for transport vehicles mandatory. It should be noted that the Draft does not mention to any revision of the List of Dangerous Goods.
