Singapore publishes proposal to ban sale of indoor paints containing formaldehyde, and solicits opinions

On November 22, 2023, Singapore announced a proposal to ban the sale (retail, online, etc.) of indoor paints containing formaldehyde (CAS registration number: 50-00-0), and began soliciting opinions. Only indoor paint products that do not contain formaldehyde will be allowed to be sold, and companies must submit a test report to the National Environment Agency (NEA) indicating that the formaldehyde content in the can is less than 0.01% w/w for each paint product.
