Malaysia releases draft amendment to guidelines for preparation of chemical register

In Malaysia, on February 10, 2022, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) published a draft amendment to the guidelines for the preparation of a chemical register under Article 5 of the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standard of Exposure Chemical Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000 (USECHH Regulations). Comments will be solicited until March 10, 2023. The current guidelines were published in 2000, and this amendment proposes changes to the definition of terms under the Occupational Safety and Health (Classification, Labelling and Safety Data Sheet of Hazardous Chemicals) Regulations 2013 (CLASS Regulations), as well as changes to the items in the chemical register and additional reporting obligations to DOSH.
