Malaysia passes amendments to the Environmental Quality Bill in the House of Representatives

The House of Representatives of Malaysia passed amendments to the Environmental Quality (Amendment) Bill 2022 on October 5, 2022. It is scheduled to be discussed in the Senate in the future. This bill mainly amends the penal provisions for violations of the Environmental Quality Act and raises the maximum amount of fines significantly.
