Malaysia Publishes Three Drafts for Occupational Safety and Health

On July 10, 2023, Malaysia’s Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) has published three drafts, including a regulation, an order and a guideline. Under the not yet in force Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022, the regulation and order drafts aim to specify details such as registration fees of competent person and training attendees, while the guideline provides information on medical surveillance for exposure of chemicals hazardous to health, and responsibilities of employers and workers. Public comments for these drafts were held till July 24, 2023.

 

Occupational Safety and Health (Fees for Competent Person and Registered Training Provider) Regulations 202X

Those who engage in activities listen in fifth schedule of the Act must register as a competent person.
