According to a press release dated October 16, 2023, the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC) of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs Convention), considered a draft proposal for “risk management evaluation” of “Long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids, their salts and related compounds (hereinafter referred to as “Long-chain PFCAs”)” and “Chlorinated paraffins with a chlorine content of 45% or more by weight in the range of carbon chain length from C14 to C17 (hereinafter abbreviated as “Medium-chain chlorinated paraffins”/Additive chlorine-based flame retardants)” at the “19th meeting (POPRC19)” held from October 9 to October 13, 2023.
