The Cabinet of Japan decided the Cabinet Order on Designation of UV-328, methoxychlor, and decolane plus as Class I Specified Chemical Substances under the Act on the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc. (CSCL) on December 13, 2024. This amendment was made in response to the decision to make these substances subject to elimination under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs Convention).
Outline of the Cabinet Order
The table below lists the substances designated by the Cabinet Order; products that will not be allowed to be imported if they contain these substances; and a use of these substances exempt from the control, with an exemption period.
