China National Light Industry Council releases standards for green product assessment of air conditioner compressors

On May 31, 2022, the China National Light Industry Council released a public notice of association standards called the “Technical Specification for Green-design Product Assessment — Compressors for Room Air Conditioners” (T/CNLIC 0023-2021). These standards, which have already been implemented since May 10, 2021, set out requirements and methods for assessing the green design of room air conditioner compressors, such as rotary and scroll compressors, and include packaging requirements, recycling labeling standards and standards for hazardous substance content in products and packaging.
