China updates recommended national standard for control of restricted substances in EEE

On Aug. 23, 2024, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation published a recommended national standard titled “Restricted Substances Management Systems for Electrical and Electronic Products—Requirements” (GB/T 31274-2024). It will come into effect Dec. 1, 2024.

This is an update to the GB/T 31274-2014 standard. The changes in the update include revisions to the scope and technical details of the standard, which are based on the revision of another national standard, “Quality Management Systems—Requirements” (GB/T 19001), as well as on the Measures on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products1.
