China’s Hainan province implements program that encourages carbon reduction through carbon trading

On Feb. 27, 2023, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Hainan province, China, issued experimental provincial measures that implements a “carbon inclusion1 program, which came into effect immediately. “Carbon inclusion” refers to the program that encourages green and low-carbon efforts through the creation of carbon accounts, commercial incentives and carbon trading.
