China announces promotion of non-fossil energy through green power certificates, energy saving, carbon emission reduction

On Jan. 27, 2024, China’s National Development and Reform Commission, National Bureau of Statistics and National Energy Administration jointly issued a circular on promoting non-fossil energy through the integration of green power certificates, energy conservation and carbon dioxide emission reduction.

The circular shows how to integrate schemes for green power certificates, energy conservation and carbon dioxide emission reduction by developing policies, establishing a foundation for the green power market, and expanding the use of green power certificates.
