China accelerates the establishment of product carbon footprint management system

On November 24, 2023, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and other four central government departments jointly issued the “Opinions on accelerating the establishment of product carbon footprint management system”. The Opinions sets out the key tasks for establishing the product carbon footprint management system. The key tasks include formulating the calculation rules and standards of product carbon footprint, establishing the labeling and certification system of product carbon footprint, and enriching the application scenarios of product carbon footprint.
