China seeks comments on 4 draft national standards for safety of toys

On Nov. 27, 2023, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published drafts of the following revised national standards for the safety of toys:

  • Toys Safety — Part1:Basic Code
  • Safety of Toys — Part 2: Mechanical and Physical Properties
  • Safety of Toys — Part 3: Flammability
  • Safety of Toys — Part 4: Migration of Certain Elements

 

The ministry is seeking comments on the drafts through Jan. 26, 2024. The final versions are planned to come into effect 36 months after the publication dates, which have not been decided yet.
