China to ban production of disposable medical devices using HCFCs as silicone oil diluents or cleaners from Dec. 1, 2023

On Aug. 31, 2023, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced on its website that the government would ban the production of disposable medical devices using hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) as silicone oil diluents or cleaning agents in accordance with the Regulations on Ozone-depleting Substances1 to implement the Montreal Protocol.
