China issues new installments of lists of goods prohibited for import, export

On June 6, 2023, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Commerce, and General Administration of Customs published the eighth installment of the list of goods prohibited for import and seventh installment of the list of goods prohibited for export, based on the country’s Foreign Trade Law1 and Regulations on the Import and Export of Goods2, to implement the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and Minamata Convention on Mercury.

 

The new installments of the two lists came into effect immediately. They do not apply to imported and exported goods that are used for laboratory-scale research or used as reference materials. English translations of them are given below.
