On June 16, 2023, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment publishes on its website a draft 2023 List of Toxic Chemicals Strictly Restricted in China1. The ministry accepted comments on the draft through June 26, 2023.
This list is undergoing revision from the current version in line with the 2023 List of Key Controlled New Pollutants2 and other new and revised laws and regulations; new substances would be added to the revised list to match China’s recent POPs-related policies and new pollution regulations. Here is an overview of the draft list.
