Vietnam passes Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety: motorcycle emission inspections mandated from 2025 
On June 27, 2024, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety was passed by the Vietnam National Assembly. This law consists of 8 chapters and 89 articles, providing for road traffic rules, vehicle conditions, drivers, handling of traffic accidents, safety patrols, and safety management. This law will enter into force on January 1, 2025.
Noteworthy in terms of environmental aspects is the newly introduced requirements on safety technology and environmental protection for mechanical vehicles (e.g., cars and motorbikes) as set forth in Article 41.
