Malaysia Publishes First Outline of Draft Regulations on Environmentally Hazardous Substances

The Department of Environment (DOE) of Malaysia published the outline for the draft Environmental Quality (Environmentally Hazardous Substances) Regulations 202X on June 22, 2026, and is conducting a 30 day public comment period. Once enacted, the proposed regulations are positioned to ratify the Stockholm Convention and the Minamata Convention, regulating substances covered by these international conventions and laws as Environmentally Hazardous Substances (EHS).
