South Korea to extend the implementation dates of target energy efficiency standards for electric refrigerators and television receivers

On December 29, 2025, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (MCEE) of South Korea announced that it has drafted a new amendment to the Operational Regulation on Equipment for Efficiency Management (“the Regulation”) to adjust the effective dates of the Medium- and Long-Term Target Energy Efficiency Standards, in response to the revisions of Korean Industrial Standards (KS Standards) for electric refrigerators and the change to the energy efficiency management system for television receivers.
