China revises national standard for water metering devices

On July 11, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation released the national standard “General rules for equipping and managing the water metering devices in water-use organizations” (GB/T 24789-2022). This national standard will replace the current “General rules for equipping and managing the water metering devices in water-use organizations” (GB 24789-2009) and come into force on November 1, 2022. Requirements for general rules of equipping and managing of the water metering devices, metering scope and equipping rate of water metering devices in water-use organizations are specified in the standard.
