China extends purchase tax exemption policy for new-energy vehicles to promote their sale

On Aug. 18, 2022, at an Executive Meeting presided by Premier Li Keqiang, China’s State Council approved several policies that encourage the purchase of high-value goods, including new-energy vehicles among others. To increase goods consumption, help develop growing industries and support green and low-carbon development, the council decided the following things:
