China’s Shandong province requires companies to attach two-dimensional barcodes to hazardous chemicals by Oct. 30

According to information released Aug. 31, 2022 by a source familiar with the matter, the Emergency Management Office of China’s Shandong province plans to fully implement the “one company, one item, one code” management system, that is, hazardous chemical management using two-dimensional barcodes. Under this plan, producers and importers of hazardous chemicals in Shandong province are required to attach a safety information barcode (two-dimensional barcode) to each hazardous chemical by Oct. 30, 2022.
