Beijing, China announces new transportation development plan to increase the proportion of new energy vehicles

On April 10, 2022, the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality announced the “Transportation development and construction plan in the 14^th Five-Year-Plan period (2021~2025)”. In the Plan, five strategic objectives, such as increasing the capacity for international transportation and communication, improving efficiency through interregional cooperation, achieving high-level service as a capital city, high quality development in the industry, and high efficiency in the overall management, have been proposed, and 22 detailed development indicators have also been set, all of these are depicting a new blueprint for the Beijing’s transportation development in the 14^th Five-Year-Plan period. At the meantime, measures such as strengthening the environment-friendly eco-transportation, and promoting the green development in transportation by promoting the penetration rate of the new energy vehicles have also been set up in the Plan.
