China releases “Discharge Standard of Water Pollution for Electronic Industry” and other 7 national standards 
On December 21, 2020, the China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment and State Administration for Market Regulation jointly released the “Discharge Standard of Water Pollution for Electronic Industry” and other 7 mandatory national standards (including the amendment sheets).
The 8 national standards（including the amendment sheets）released this time are as follows.
- Discharge standard of water pollution for electronic industry (GB 39731-2020)
- Emission standard of pollutants from Lead and Zink industry (GB 25466-2010) amendment sheet
- Emission standards of pollutants from Sn, Sb, Hg industry (GB 30770-2014) amendment sheet
- Emission standard of pollutants for sulfuric acid industry (GB 26132-2010) amendment sheet
- Discharge standards of water pollutants for phosphate fertilizer industry (GB 15580-2011) amendment sheet
- Discharge standard of water pollutants for iron and steel industry (GB 13456-2012) amendment sheet
- Discharge standard of water pollutants for fermentation alcohol and distilled spirits industry (GB 27631-2011) amendment sheet
- Discharge Standard of Pollutants for beer industry (GB 19821-2005) amendment sheet
The “Discharge Standard of Water Pollution for Electronic Industry”, which sets the water pollutant emission limit for electronic industry, will come into force on July 1, 2021. The following is an example of the emission limits specified by the standard.

The new construction, reconstruction and expansion projects of the related industrial enterprises or the production facilities construction, whose environmental impact assessment documents have been approved after the release date of “Emission standard of pollutants from Lead and Zink industry” (GB 25466-2010) amendment sheet, “Emission standards of pollutants from Sn, Sb, Hg industry” (GB 30770-2014) amendment sheet, “Emission standard of pollutants for sulfuric acid industry” (GB 26132-2010) amendment sheet, “Discharge standards of water pollutants for phosphate fertilizer industry” (GB 15580-2011) amendment sheet, and “Discharge standard of water pollutants for iron and steel industry” (GB 13456-2012) amendment sheet, shall follow the requirements of the amendment sheets from January 1,2021. While the related industrial enterprises or the production facilities construction, whose environmental impact assessment documents had been approved before the release date of the above amendment sheets, shall follow the requirements of the amendment sheets from January 1,2022.
“Discharge standard of water pollutants for fermentation alcohol and distilled spirits industry” (GB 27631-2011) amendment sheet and “Discharge standard of pollutants for beer industry” (GB 19821-2005) amendment sheet come into force from the release date.
