China amends national standard of recycled water quality for industrial uses

On March 15, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the State Standardization Administration of China released the amended voluntary national standard “Reuse of urban recycled water-Water quality standard for industrial uses” (GB/T 19923-2024). The standard will replace the 2005 version from October 1, 2024.

The standard specifies the water quality standard, sampling methods and monitoring methods of urban recycled water for industrial uses. The standard applies to the recycled water used as raw water for industrial uses such as make-up water for recirculating cooling water, once-through cooling water, washing water, and boiler makeup water.

The main amendments are as follows.
