China to launch nationwide inspection campaign to eliminate potential risks of serious accidents

On July 3, 2023, China’s Ministry of Emergency Management announced a nationwide campaign of special inspection to detect potential risks of serious accidents in business entities. This campaign aims to promote risk control activities, actively prevent accidents, have more effective accident prevention measures implemented, and increase oversight inspection.

 

Promotion of risk control activities

The emergency management department of each province will instruct business entities to assess and eliminate potential risks of serious accidents, and improve their safety levels. The department will cooperate with providers of work safety liability insurance1 to instruct insured companies to assess and eliminate potential risks of serious accidents.
