Vietnam partially amends decrees to implement Fire Prevention and Fighting Act

On May 10, 2024, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree No. 50/2024/ND-CP Partially Amending Decree No. 136/2020/ND-CP on Detailed Guidance on the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Decree No. 83/2017/ND-CP on Regulations on Rescue Operations (hereinafter "the new Decree"). The new Decree regulates fire prevention and fighting, and rescue operations in manufacturing and trading facilities. The major revisions made by the new Decree cover: items to be reviewed and approval authority for fire safety design, application documents for fire prevention and fighting plans for facilities, and timeframe for conducting firefighting and rescue training and issuing training completion certificates.
