On January 12, 2026, Malaysia published orders amending the Customs (Prohibition of Imports) Order 2023 and the Customs (Prohibition of Exports) Order 2023, which regulate imports and exports of items including chemicals. Furthermore, on January 14, an additional order was published to further amend the former import order. These orders add specific chemicals to the list of substances subject to import and export restrictions, where the exporter or importer is obligated to obtain a license from the authorities for products under these categories. The effective date for all these orders is January 15, 2026.
