Taiwan adds UV disinfection equipment into RoHS regulations

On Dec. 23, 2022, Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection issued regulations that require inspection for UV disinfection electrical equipment. The regulations came into effect immediately. Starting from May 1, 2023, imported and domestically manufactured products subject to the regulations will receive inspection according to specified inspection standards and inspection types (see the table below). These standards include Section 5 “Marking of Presence” of the CNS 15663 (2013) standard, which is known as Taiwan RoHS. This means that UV disinfection electrical equipment is regulated under Taiwan RoHS.
