Taiwan publishes the draft of criteria for drinking water from water purifiers

On June 15, 2022, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan published a draft of the “Technical specification for water quality testing of drinking water from water filters (purifiers) commodities” (hereinafter referred as to “Technical Specification”) and started collecting comments. The deadline for submitting comments is 60 days after the publication date of the draft. The Technical Specification is applied to the inspection of water quality and safety requirements for water produced from water purifiers with filtration or purification functions. The Technical Specification specifies the conformity criteria for various substances such as metals and volatile organic compounds in water quality, and the water produced from water filters must meet with the criteria.
