On March 21, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor released an updated edition of the priority management chemical notification manual based on the Regulations for Governing Designating and Handling of Priority Management Chemicals amended on Nov. 5. The amended regulations came into effect immediately, but Articles 6 to 9 of the regulations, which stipulate notification rules, took effect separately on April 1. The manual provides an outline and detailed descriptions of the chemicals subject to the notification requirement and explains how to use the notification platform.
Chemicals subject to the notification requirement
The simplified version of the manual provides an overview of the “priority management chemicals” subject to the notification requirement as shown in the table below.
Article 2, Subparagraph 1 1 | The 96 chemicals on the list of Chemicals With Properties Hazardous to Female Workers Under the Age of 18, Pregnant or Less Than One Year After Childbirth; and mixtures containing more than one percent of these chemicals by weight | |
