Taiwan adds sensor-type water faucets to water efficiency regulations

On June 8, 2021, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) issued a public notice regarding the amendment to “the Mandatory Requirement for Water Efficiency Labeling Products of water equipment, sanitary ware or other equipment”. The outline of the amendment is as follows.

    • Addition of products subject to water efficiency labels

Sensor-type water faucets are added to the list of water efficiency labeling products.

    • Effective date: July 1, 2022

 

Related regulations

In accordance with Article 95-1 of the Water Supply Act, designated products are required to have a “water efficiency label” attached. Those who violate the above regulations and sell products in Taiwan that do not have a “water efficiency label” attached will be fined NT$40,000 and ordered to take corrective measures within deadline. If the violation is not corrected by the deadline, it will be punished according to the number of violations.
