Taiwan to amend subordinate laws of the Waste Disposal Act to control flow of decoration and renovation waste

On September 12, 2024, the Ministry of Environment of Taiwan issued draft amendments to the “General waste recycling and removal methods” and “The reporting format, items, content and frequency of reporting the production, storage, removal, processing, reuse, export and import of waste through online transmission”, both of which are subordinate laws of the “Waste Disposal Act”. Comments to these two drafts amendment will be closed after 30 days. These two drafts amendment add requirements on online declaration of waste generated during decoration and renovation, which will enable authorities to grasp the flow of decoration and renovation waste transportation and disposal.
