Taiwan promotes using containers made from recycled plastics

On March 14, 2024, the Resource Circulation Administration, the Ministry of Environment of Taiwan published the emended notice “Work points for promoting the using of non-food containers made from recycled plastics”. The notice came into effect immediately. The notice was formulated to promote the recycling of plastics on a voluntary basis. The notice applies to recycled plastic products, which refers to products that are filled with non-food items, such as cosmetics, cleansers and etc., in containers made from recycled plastics. Manufacturers of recycled plastic products are allowed to label the recycled plastic content on their products if they have passed the verification and received a certificate from the Resource Circulation Administration. The certificate is valid for 3 years.
