Japan holds meeting to discuss GHG emissions assessment, reporting, publication scheme

On Oct. 17, 2024, Japan’s Ministry of the Environment held the first meeting to discuss the greenhouse gas emissions assessment, reporting and publication scheme of Japan (the “SHK scheme”). The meeting deliberated introducing the separate reporting of direct and indirect energy-related CO₂ emissions as well as reflecting the amount of captured CO₂ in emissions assessment through voluntary emission reporting.
