China proposes OSH standard in powder coating manufacturing industry

On Dec. 12, 2022, China’s Ministry of Emergency Management released a draft recommended industry standard for production safety called the Safety and Health Technical Standard of Powder Coatings Manufacturer to seek public comments, which will be accepted through Feb. 11, 2023. As environmentally friendly and VOC-free coatings, powder coatings are replacing liquid paints in China. According to the explanatory material published along with the draft, the standard aims to enhance production safety management in powder coating manufacturers as there were more than 4,000 powder coating manufactures in China as of 2018, and the number has been increasing.
