China releases guidelines on management plan, manifest of hazardous waste for waste-generating companies 
On June 20, 2022, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment released a national ecology and environment standard called the Technical Guideline for Deriving Hazardous Waste Management Plans and Records (HJ 1259-2022) (危险废物管理计划和管理台账制定技术导则), which will come into effect on Oct. 1, 2022. Article 78 of the Solid Waste Environmental Pollution Control Law as amended in 2020 sets out new requirements for the formulation of a hazardous waste management plan, record-keeping in the hazardous waste manifest and submission of hazardous waste information. The latest standard sets specific requirements for the management plan and manifest of hazardous waste for companies generating this type of waste.
