Shanghai to launch compliance inspections of pollutant discharge permit holders

On July 5, 2022, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment announced a plan for 2022 to carry out compliance inspections of pollutant discharge permit holders across Shanghai, China’s most populous city. The plan includes completing compliance inspections of all the pollutant discharge permit holders in 23 key industries. It also sets out a specific schedule as well as penalties for issues found during inspections.
