Beijing to revise the emission standard of air pollutants for automotive manufacturing industry

On June 7, 2022, the Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau released a draft for comments on revision of the mandatory local standard, “Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Automotive Manufacturing Industry” (DB11/ 1227-2015). The deadline for submitting comments is July 1, 2022. The standard stipulates emission limits of air pollutants for automotive manufacturing industry. The current standard (DB11/ 1227-2015) defines the scope of application as "the coating process in the automotive manufacturing industry," while the draft for comments expands the scope to "automotive manufacturing enterprises or production facilities”. Besides, the VOC content limit requirements for coatings, adhesives, and cleaning agents used by manufacturers are also newly added.
