China issues mandatory national standard defining water efficiency requirements, water efficiency grades for toilets

On Oct. 28, 2024, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation published a mandatory national standard that defines water efficiency requirements and water efficiency grades for toilets, which is titled “Minimum Allowable Values of Water Efficiency and Water Efficiency Grades for Water Closets”. This is the second update to the standard (GB 25502) after it was published in 2010 and first revised in 2017. The new version will come into effect May 1, 2025.
