China publishes experimental m easures on oversight, management of wastewater outlets into sea

On Oct. 2, 2024, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment published experimental measures on the oversight and management of wastewater outlets into the sea. The measures aim to rigorously enforce the Marine Environment Protection Law¹, the State Council General Office’s opinions on implementing more effective oversight and management of wastewater outlets into rivers and the sea², and other policies, as well as aiming to bolster the management of wastewater outlets into the sea.
