China’s Shanghai issues local standard for air pollution emissions in printing industry

On Aug. 5, 2024, the government of Shanghai, China published a local standard called the Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Printing Industry (DB 31/872-2024). It is a revision of the 2015 version of the standard.

The nine-chapter local standard sets out requirements for printing operations, more specifically, requirements for the control of organizational air pollution emissions, fugitive emission control in factory premises, pollution monitoring, compliance check, and the implementation and oversight of the standard.

 

Scope of the standard

The standard will govern air pollution emission control in existing printing facilities and printing operations, as well as the following things in new printing facilities and printing facility construction projects:
