China issues mandatory national standard for safety of ammonium nitrate 
On April 29, 2024, the Chinese government published a mandatory national standard called the Safety Technical Specification for Ammonium Nitrate, which will come into effect Nov. 1, 2024.
This standard will impose on ammonium nitrate producers safety requirements for the production, storage and emergency response of ammonium nitrate. The standard is mandatory, but will not apply for the purposes of port management, explosives for civilian use or ammonium nitrate production in scientific research for national security.
