China adds 24 chemicals into Catalog of precursor chemicals for export to certain countries/regions

On April 23, 2024, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Emergency Management and 3 other ministries jointly announced the amendments to the Catalog of precursor chemicals for export to specific countries/regions. The amendment adds 24 chemicals including hydrobromic acid, benzene into the Catalog. The amended Catalog will be effective from May 1, 2024. After May 1, 2024, a permit will be required based on the “Interim regulation on management of precursor chemicals for export to certain countries/region” when exporting chemicals listed in the Catalog to Myanmar, Laos, or Afghanistan.
