China’s Beijing announces 2024 version of bans, restrictions, controls on hazardous chemicals

On Jan. 24, 2024, the Emergency Management Bureau and other government departments of Beijing, China, announced a 2024 version of bans, restrictions and controls on hazardous chemicals.

These regulations are based on the Regulations on the Safety of Hazardous Chemicals1, Regulations of Beijing Municipality on Work Safety2 and other laws and regulations. These include bans on 62 chemicals and regional restrictions on certain chemicals. The regulations will take effect April 1, 2024.
