China strengthens the management of sewage outfalls into water bodies 
To strengthen the management of sewage outfalls into water bodies, the Ecology and Environment of China issued three ecology and environment standards on technical guidelines for the supervision and management of sewage outfalls on October 26, 2023. The three standards are “Classification of sewage outfalls” (HJ 1312-2023), “General rule of source tracing” (HJ 1313-2023) and “Information collection and exchange” (HJ 1314-2023), all of which will take effect on November 1, 2023.
