South Korea to exclude certain products from the Standby Power Reduction Program

On December 29, 2025, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment of South Korea (hereinafter “MCEE”) announced a policy to reclassify multifunction copiers and bidet toilets—currently subject to the Standby Power Reduction Program—as equipment for efficiency management (regulated products) under the Operational Regulation on Equipment for Efficiency Management, due to the particular need to manage their electricity consumption during operational modes.
