South Korea updates fining rules for exhaust noise from two-wheeled vehicles

On May 23, 2023, the South Korean government announced that a new revision to the Presidential Decree on the Noise and Vibration Control Act would take effect on July 1, 2023. Whereas two-wheeled vehicle manufacturers have been required to label their vehicles with certified values of exhaust noise, the revised Decree newly stipulates that violations against this labelling requirement will be imposed a fine that is determined according to the number of past violations.
